🌕 Harvest Moon in Aries: A Time to Reflect, Release & Be Bold

Sep 27, 2025

I’m no astrologist—but I’ve always found the cycles of the moon and the elements they align with so interesting. I like to read about them, reflect, and feel how they show up in my body, my practice, and even in the energy of the studio.

This upcoming full moon on October 6, 2025, is known as the Harvest Moon—the full moon closest to the fall equinox—and it happens to be in the bold, fiery sign of Aries.

That combo?
🔥 Courage meets closure.
🌾 Action meets reflection.
🌕 Fire meets release.

What Makes the Harvest Moon Special?

Traditionally, the Harvest Moon got its name because it gave farmers extra moonlight to bring in the last of the crops before winter. Spiritually, it’s a time to gather the fruits of your efforts, and prepare to let go of what you don’t need to carry into the darker months.

But here’s where it gets even more interesting…

Why Aries Energy Feels So Different

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac—associated with new beginnings, the head and face, and fiery, assertive energy. But paired with a full moon (which is all about culmination and release), this lunation gives us the chance to:

  • Reflect on where we’ve been reactive vs. intentional

  • Let go of patterns that keep us stuck in fear

  • Choose bold honesty, even if it’s a little uncomfortable

This isn’t about being impulsive—it’s about being brave enough to stop holding back and say: I’m ready to move forward.

Real Talk: Full Moons Are Powerful

Now, I know some folks roll their eyes at moon talk—but if you lived in New Jersey during Superstorm Sandy, you probably remember how it lined up with a full moon and high tide.

I’m not saying this moon will bring a storm, but it shows you: these celestial events do influence our world, especially when conditions align just right.

In our own lives, sometimes it feels like an internal storm is brewing—and that’s often when it’s time to pause, reflect, and release.

My Invitation to You

You don’t have to believe in astrology to benefit from a mindful moment of letting go.

This full moon, try one (or all) of these:

🧘‍♀️ Do a cooling forward fold (like Uttanasana or Paschimottanasana)
🔥 Write down what you’re ready to release and burn or tear it
🕯️ Light a candle and breathe for 5 quiet minutes
📓 Journal on: “Where am I being called to move forward with more courage?”

And of course... come to class.

Whether it’s Yin, Restorative, Chi Yoga, MFR, Gentle Yoga or Flow—our practices at Hope Yoga are here to hold you while you navigate the shifts.

Let’s harvest what matters.
Let’s release what no longer fits.
Let’s be brave enough to grow.
